So now let's get down to it! I have some really important news to share! God has been working in our lives in such big ways. He has placed longings in our hearts that we never imagined would be there, but they are undeniably placed there by Him. We are clinging to His promises and know that He will see us through on this new, exciting, and at times scary journey. In January, Rob and I decided to add on to our family. This is not something I ever thought would even cross my mind, but there it was at the forefront for many months. It was such a strong passion and longing that I knew we couldn't deny it. We both knew it was God speaking to us and our family. So on January 16, 2016 we decided to pursue an international adoption. We will be adopting our child from Haiti and he/she must be at least 10 months younger than our youngest child. With these guidelines, our child will most likely be no older than 3 years old when we bring him/her home. We are beyond thrilled and are overjoyed to be on this journey. We know there are many harsh realities to adoption that are not all honky-dory, but we also know we have a deep faith and a strong love that will lead us as we navigate this new path in life.
We are a couple weeks away from finishing the months and months of paperwork, home study visits, and education/training that will complete our dossier. Once our dossier is state certified and translated into Haitian creole, we will officially be waiting to be matched with our child. We are holding loosely to our agency's time frame of a 2 year wait from the time we start waiting for a match. We know with full confidence that it will all be in God's perfect timing. That's not to say the wait won't be difficult, but we know it will be worth it.
We look forward to bringing you all on this journey with us and hope you will pray for our family and our child as we wait to bring him/her home. Thank you so much to those family and friends that have already been so supportive, whether it be prayers, advice, references, letters of recommendation, etc. We appreciate you so very much and value the significant role you already play in our child's life.
Until next time....
Just be.
